April 3, 2014 – USRBC held a members-only conference call with the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control on Wednesday, April 3. White House Expands Sanctions List and Issues a New Executive Order
Washington, DC, March 20, 2014 - On March 20, President Obama announced that he had expanded the list of individuals sanctioned under the authority of previous Executive Orders to include 20 named individuals and 1 named entity, including both government officials and private individuals who, "...are acting for or on behalf of or materially assisting, sponsoring, or providing financial, material, or technological support for, or goods or services to or in support of, a senior official of the Government of the Russian Federation." President Obama also signed a new executive order that provides authority to impose sanctions not just on individuals but on key sectors of the Russian economy, "such as financial services, energy, metals and mining, engineering, and defense and related material."

White House Announces Asset Freezes and Visa Bans on Russian Officials in Connection with Crimea Crisis
Washington, DC, March 17 , 2014 - Today the White House announced an expansion of its Executive Order of March 6 to authorize actions against certain officials in the Russian government and any individual or entity that “operates in the arms or materiel related sector in the Russian Federation.” The action targets seven Russian officials including Presidential aides to Vladimir Putin and leading figures in the Duma and Federation Council, as well as former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, his former chief of staff and two Crimean leaders.”
